The Chase
Once upon a time a wee rat
was chasing my Tiger the cat.
Down the alley and up the street
Where they met a green parakeet.
The parakeet yelled “stop right now!
You both shake hands and take a bow.
Now swing around and try once more,
Only this time cat aft and rat fore.”
Both stopped and made an about-face
And on command resumed the chase.
Only this time big cat was glad’
And the wee rat was rather sad.
