MY ANGEL

Since beginning our journey together
on that special day,
Guardian angels have been with us
every step of the way.

We are nearing the end of our days,
Life has been good,
Always had what we needed in life,
This we understood.

Have also seen much pain around us,
Travail without hope,
Souls left with nothing to hang on to,
And not able to cope.

Why is life good to me and not to you?
How can that be right?
Or why is life good to you and not to me?
Do I deserve my plight?

I resolve not to try to understand life
Without help from above.
The only abiding constant in my life
Is your profound love.

You are the ray of sunshine on a rainy day,
My solace in despair.
You are the angel sent down from heaven,
Here my life to share.
