Every Step of the Way

This I like to pass on to you,
At the beginning of your life,
And seeing my life in review:
Walk tall every step of the way.

Do not seek to avenge a wrong,
For that is far beneath your rank.
Instead fill your heart with a song,
Know peace every step of the way.

Your friends may travel the same road,
Have all the same mountains to climb,
But carry a much greater load.
Be kind every step of the way

Even if hardship comes your way,
Always remember we love you.
May you feel each hour, every day,
Our love every step of the way.

Walk on the sunny side of life,
Pitch your tent on a mountaintop.
Where possible, avoid all strife,
Find bliss every step of the way.

This our prayerful wish for you,
Is that life will be kind and good,
That you will know each day anew,
Our love every step of the way.
