The Big Birds

I met a Canada goose
And said how are things?
She said I have no choice,
I take what life brings.

Am trying to build a nest
Somewhere safe and wet
And all these decisions
Are making me sweat



I met a blue heron,
Not looking all that great.
He was rather sad,
Because he lost his mate.



I said look over there!
See her in the tall grass?
She is looking for fish,
Like Kokanee and bass.



I saw a grand Osprey,
In a nest up so high.
Keenly guarding her nest,
Wanting nothing awry.



How majestic she looked
Gliding in the blue sky.
I would love to explore,
How I wish I could fly.
